Remote sensing is science and art  of obtaining information about the object , area or phenomena of interest by a device that is not in direct contact.


History of Remote sensing

1609- Invention of telescope by Galileo

1859 - First aerial photographer Gaspard Felix Tournachon took photo through hot air balloon

1908 - First aerial  photo from airplane

1914-1918 - Use of aircrafts during World war I for aerial photographs


Electromagnetic Spectrum

The range of wavelengths or frequencies over which electromagnetic radiation extends.

Resolutions

i. Radiometric Resolution

Radiometric Resolution is how finely a satellite or sensor divides up the radiance it receives in each band.
